Knallen met kleur -Totally Techniques- Glitter Splatter Techniek!

De techniek van deze maand is de Glitter Splatter Techniek, of in het Nederlands gezegd de  Glitter Spetter techniek. Een leuke en makkelijke manier om glitter en glamour aan je projecten toe te voegen ;o)

Technique of this month is the Glitter Splatter Technique. It is an easy and fun way to add glitter to your projects!

Deze techniek is niet nieuw, maar wordt meestal op donkere en gevulde kaarten toegepast. Gezien het mooie weer leek het me leuk er een zomerse draai aan te geven en het heel subtiel te houden. Knallen met kleur, maar dan met mate dus!

It is no new technique and it is often used on rather dark projects. Because of the nice weather we have in the Netherlands at the moment, I decided to give the technique a summery feeling by using it on subtle and light colors.

 De Glitter Splatter techniek werkt als volgt. Met wat Multi Purpose Liquid Glue die je met wat druppels water verdund en mengt met een Aquapainters maak je spettertjes op je project. Dit doe je door de penseelpunt goed te vullen met je lijmmengsel en vervolgens met de Aquapainter op je vrije hand te tikken. De verdunde lijm komt dan in spettertjes op je cardstock te zitten. Door er vervolgens Stampin'Glitter op te doen, en het goed te laten drogen krijg je glitterspetters. De losse glitters kun je er met een watje of droog kwastje eenvoudig afvegen. Vergeet niet je clearblockje (of wat je daarvoor ook maar gebruikt hebt) en je Aqua Painter, even goed af te spoelen.


The Glitter Splatter is done by taking some Multi Purpose Liquid Glue, adding a few drops of water and mixing it with an Aquapainter.. After loading the Aquapainter with this mixture you can flick little splatters on your cardstock by ticking the Aqua Painter on your free hand. After that you add some Stampin'Glitter to the project, shake of the exces and let it dry thoroughly. When it is dry you can gently wipe of the leftover glitters, the glitters will stay in the glue splatters. Don't forget to clean your clearblock (or whatever you used to make your mix) and your Aquapainter!

Maar om mijn kaart te maken bereidde ik eerst de achtergrond voor. Ik maakte in de hoeken een mooie geleidelijke uitlopende blauwtint welke ik aanbracht met de Sponge Brayer en verschillende kleuren blauw. Dat zorgt voor mooie schakeringen. Ik gebruikte hiervoor Coastal Cabana, Balmy Blue en Pool Party.


But to make my card I first prepared the background. I added some blue in the corners. To do this I used a Sponge Brayer and three different blue colors to make it more diverse and more interesting...
The colors I used are Coastal Cabana, Balmy Blue and Pool Party.

 Aan de hoek rechtsonder gaf ik wat structuur met een prachtige streepjes stempel uit de nieuwe set Lilypad Lake. Ik gebruikte hiervoor Pool Party inkt, en paste de Stamp-off techniek toe, zodat je heel subtiel de lijntjes ziet: De rimpelingen op het water..

To the corner on the right I addes some structure with this beautiful stamp from the new stampset Lilypad Lake. For this I used the Pool Party ink. Before I stamped on my card I stamped off the stamp to get a more subtle effect. It will look like "wrinkles" on a watersurface.

Hierna komen dan de Glitter Spetters met Stampin'Glitter in zilverkleur.. En in combinatie met de ondergrond maakt het dat het net op de schittering van kabbelend water lijkt.

After this comes the Glitter Splatter layer with the Silver Stampin'Glitter. Together with the background it mimics the sparkling of water.

Vind je die tekst niet prachtig? Ik ben er weg van....To see far is one thing... Going there is another. Dat maakt deze kaart enorm geschikt om naar iemand te sturen die zijn of haar best heeft gedaan om een doel te bereiken of daar nog mee bezig is! Ook voor alle jongelui die examen doen dus!

Don't you love the Sentiment? To see far is one thing..... Going there is another... It makes this a great card to send to someone who is working hard to achieve something... or who has reached an important goal!

De leuke bootjes zijn ingekleurd met inkt en de Blender Pens. Vervolgens heb ik ze uitgestanst met de bijpassende Lakeside Framelits.

The lovely boats are colored with ink and Blender Pens. After that I diecut them with the matching Lakeside Framelits.

Voor het evenwicht nog een kleine versiering met de Classic Label, wat restjes cardstock en een stukje Bakerstwine. Een leuk, nautisch getint accentje!

To finish of the card I added a little decoration made with the Classic Label Punch, some leftover Cardstock and a piece of Bakerstwine. It gives the card a nice nautical accent.

Eigenlijk vind ik het wel heel erg leuk dat je met deze techniek in combinatie met dit waterthema heel goed glitters op een kaart kunt toepassen die ook nog steeds perfect te gebruiken is voor heren! ;o)

Don't you think this technique is a great possibility to add some glitter and glamour to a card that can very well be send to a man? ;o) Yeah, glitter is also great for men and this card proves that...

Ik ben blij dat ik deze techniek weer eens in de spotlights mocht zetten, want  het is te leuk om niet te doen en bij zo veel verschillende thema's toe te passen!  Ik hoop dat je het ook eens gaat proberen! It is really fun to put this technique in the spotlights this month. It is too beautiful not to use it, and it is also a very versatile technique that combines perfectly with many themes... I really hope you will give it a try too!
