Vintage voor de boekenfan - Totally Techniques Bloghop - Fun Fringeing

Deze keer gaan de franjes maken met papier, oftewel Fun Fringeing!

This time we will make some lovely fringes with paper, Fun Fringeing!

Met franje kun je op een eenvoudige manier, en zonder extra materialen nodig te hebben, veel textuur aan je kaart toevoegen! En dat wilde ik graag doen op deze kaart, die voor een bijzondere jarige bedoeld is!

With fringes you can add lots of texture to your card, without any materials and in a very simple way! And that is what I wanted to do on this card, that was made for a very special person!

Meer dan papier en een schaar heb je er niet voor nodig!

You don't need anything more then some paper and a pair of scissors.

Ik nam een stuk van dit mooie Country Lace DSP, en rilde met mijn Paper Trimmer een lijntje, ongeveer 1,5 cm van beide kanten.

Met mijn Paper Snips schaartje, knipte ik aan beide lange zijden kleine knipjes, tot aan de gerilde lijn! En klaar is de franje rand!

I took a piece of this lovely Country Lace DSP, and scored a line with my Paper Trimmer, approx 1,5 cm from the sides.

With my Paper Snips I cut little slits on both of the long sides, until the scored line.

Now you have a fringed edge!

Maar als je wat meer wilt, en je een lekker ruig en rustiek franje-randje wilt maken kun je het papier aan de achterzijde licht vochtig maken door er met een Water Painter een paar keer over heen te gaan. Het papier wordt dan heel soepel en daardoor kun je het met je vingers heel makkelijk kreuken. Als je het vervolgens goed laat drogen, blijven die kreuken goed in je papier zitten.

But if you want a bit more, and like to give the fringed edge a more rough and rustic look, you can lightly moisten the paper from the backside by wiping a Water Painter over the fringed part of the card. This makes the paper very soft, and easy to crinkle and crumple. When you let it dry these funny shapes hold very well!

Ik ben helemaal WEG van deze unieke set met de naam For the Books, die te vinden is in de Mini Catalogus.

Een geweldige set voor de echte boekenliefhebber... zoals bijvoorbeeld onze dochter. Ze heeft een prachtige boekenkast vol en leest ze allemaal! De kaart is dan ook voor haar!

A Great set for the true booklover...... like for instance our daughter. She has wall ful of great books and she reads them all. So yes, this card is meant for her!

Ik stempelde alle boeken, en kleurde ze in met Stampin'Blends! Hierbij gebruikte ik mooie gedekte kleuren want daar houdt ze van! Je kunt lekker afwisselen met de diverse boekenstempels in de set, om er een afwisselend geheel van te maken. En zie je dat leuke brilletje? Ook die stempel zit in de set!

Met smalle strookjes cardstock maakte ik net echte boekenplanken!

I stamped all the books, and coloured them with Stampin'Blends. For this I chose some muted, natural colours, because that is what our daughter loves the most. It is fun to vary with the bookstamps in the set, to make it a versatile overall look. And did you see that little pair of glasses? That is a stamp in the set too!

With small strips of cardstock I made the shelves for the books, to get a realistic look!

Natuurlijk hoort er een passende tekst bij, en deze kleedde ik ook nog helemaal "in style" aan met die prachtige boekenstans, en die enorm schattige kleine "kwastjes". Die zijn heel simpel te maken met de speciale stans in de set! Zijn ze niet leuk?

Ofcourse I wanted a fitting text, that I dressed up, ofcourse "in style" with the theme of this card, with the beautiful diecut book and the lovely tassels! There is a special die in the set to make these, so they are super easy to make and extremely cute!

Heel veel randjes zijn lekker bruin geinkt om ze oud te laten lijken, en sommige randjes zijn ook nog wat opgekreukt om het helemaal compleet te maken.

Lots of edges are inked brown to make them look a bit old, and some edges are more or less crincled as well.

For You - Drie kaarten met Serene love DSP Stamp 'n Hop Bloghop - Paper Party

Het thema van deze hop is Paper Party, oftewel ga aan de slag met Designpapier en maak er iets feestelijks mee!

Theme of this hop is Paper Party! So let's take some Designer Series Paper and have fun!

Ik maakte meteen een set van drie kaarten, waarop designpapier de hoofdrol speelt!

I made a set of three cards that are made mainly with DSP!

Met designpapier heb je zo veel mogelijkheden! Zeker met zulk mooi papier als ik vandaag gebruikte!

Designer Series Papers offer so many possibilities! Especially when you paper that is as pretty as the paper I used today!

Serene Love DSP is de naam van het papier dat ik gebruikte. Dit is een speciale extra uitgave die in december uitkwam. Het is te vinden in de Online Only afdeling van de webwinkel!

Serene Love DSP is the name of the paper I used. It is a special edition that was introduced in december. It can be found in the Online Exclusive part of the webshop!

Ik stelde de achtergronden samen uit drie leuke printjes die mooi bij elkaar passen, in de kleur Old Olive. Hier maakte ik drie leuke combinaties mee, die aan patchwork doen denken.

I assembled three backgrounds from three lovely patterns that looked nice together, all in Old Olive. It makes it look like patchwork a bit!

Hoe ik dit deed kun je zien in deze tutorial die ik een paar jaar geleden al eens maakte! Alleen gebruikte ik nu drie patronen, en daardoor krijg ik ook drie achtergronden in plaats van vier!

How I did this was explained in this tutorial I made a few years ago! Now I used three patterns instead of four, so that is why I get three backgrounds this time!

De panelen inkte ik aan de randjes met Old Olive inkt en een Blending Brush en plakte ik vervolgens op een gestanste postzegelvormen in Night of Navy, waarvoor ik de Perennial Postage stansen gebruikte.

The panels were inked at the edges with Blending Brushes and Old Olive inkt, and adhered to the stampshapes in Night of Navy, for which I used the Perennial Postage Dies.

Uit een ander vel van het DSP knipte ik een aantal van de prachtige bloemen uit in de kleur Night of Navy.

From another sheet of the DSP I fussycut a number of these pretty flowers in Night of Navy.

Met een kleine Blending Brushes en Night of Navy Inkt gaf ik de bloemen net een klein waasje kleur.

With a small Blending Brush and Night of Navy Ink I gave the flowers a hint of colour.

De tekstlabels ponste ik uit met de Labeled with Love pons. De stempels komen uit de nieuwe set For the Books. Ook hier inkte ik licht de randjes.

The textlabels were punched with the Labeled with love Punch. The stamps are from the new set For The Books. Again the edges were inked a bit.

Nadat ik alles mooi geschikt had, ponste ik met de takjespons een aantal verschillende takjes en blaadjes uit. Daarna plakte ik alles vast!

After arranging all the elements until I was happy with the result, I punched some branches and Leaves with the Bough Punch. Finally I adhered it all together!
