Fleurig en vierkant - Stamping With Friends Bloghop - Color Challenge

Vandaag gaan we aan de slag met een kleurcombinatie.

Today we are going to work with a color combination

De bedoeling is het dat je vier van de bovenstaande kleuren uitkiest, en daarmee je project gaat maken!

The challenge is to choose four of the colors in the image shown above and use these four to make our project!

Ik koos de kleuren Blueberry Bushel, Daffodil Delight, Fresh Freesia en Shy Shamrock!

Dat vond ik zo'n originele, frisse combinatie!

I thought they are such a unique, fresh combination!

De stempelset die ik gebruikte heet Textured Floral. Deze prachtige set is te vinden in de jaarcatalogus.

The stampset I used is called Textured Floral. This gorgeous set can be found in our Annual Catalog!

Hiermee stempelde ik een hele berg bloemen in de challengekleuren!

With this set I stamped a bunch of flowers in the Challenge colours!

Met de Bloementextuurstansen, die precies bij de stempels passen, stanste ik ze allemaal uit.

With the Textured Floral Dies, that match the stamps perfectly, I diecut them all.

Klaar om op de achtergrond te schikken!

Ready to arrange them on the background!

Deze wilde ik net even wat extra's geven dus koos ik hier voor een bijpassend stuk DSP, met een subtiel printje in plaats van cardstock. Het komt uit het Regals 6x6 inch DSP!

Door de randjes te inkten krijg je een mooi schaduweffect.

I wanted to give the background something extra, so I decided to choose for a piece of DSP with a subtle print, instead of cardstock. This paper comes from the Regals 6x6 inch DSP pack!

By blending the edges with some ink I got this fun shadowy effect.

Met Dimensionals krijg je lekker veel diepte in het bloemenarrangement!

Met een Stampin'Write Marker bracht ik wat spettertjes aan. Dit maakt het net even wat pittiger!

Using Dimensioals provides lots of depth in the arrangement.

Adding some splatters with a Stampin'Write Markers gives some contrast and energy.

De tekst komt ook uit de set, en deze verwerkte ik op een dubbel bannertje. Er achter kwam een stukje prachtig lint met regenbloogglans. Het is prachtig om te zien hoe de kleuren van de kaart weerspiegelen in het lint!

The text is from the same stampset and turned the strip in a double banner. Behond the banner I added some Iredecent ribbon. The colords of the card are reflected in it, and that looks absolutely lovely!

Deze fleurige bloemenkaart past helemaal bij dit laatste weekend met zomerweer, wat we hier in Nederland hebben! Maar natuurlijk kun je het hele jaar door iemand verrassen met zo'n kaart!

This flowery card is a perfect fit with the last sunny weekend we are having at this moment in the Netherlands! But ofcourse a card like this can be sent all through the year!

Chic & Simple Flowercards - Totally Techniques Bloghop - Bordered Sentiments

Ook deze maand is er weer een leuke techniek gekozen, de Bordered Strip Techniek!

Again we have chosen a fun technique this month, the Bordered Strip Technique!

Een superleuke, eenvoudige techniek waarmee je eenvoudige, maar sjieke kaarten kunt maken!

A lovely, simple technique, to clean and simple but also chic cards!

Door de strip die bij het stempelen blanco blijft te bestempelen met de tekst, krijg je bovendien een clean en moderne look.

By keeping the strip white while stamping on the card, you get a lovely spot to add the text. The straight clean lines are giving the cards a clean and modern look.

Het leuke is bovendien dat je deze techniek kunt combineren met allerlei stempels en uiteenlopende thema's. Ik koos voor deze romantische bloemen in een mooie, maar ongebruikelijke kleurcombinatie!

Fun fact is that you can combine this technique with all kinds of stamps and several themes. I chose these romantic flowers in a lovely, but unusual colour combination!

Textured Floral is de naam van de set die ik hiervoor gebruikte! Vind je dat watercolour effect niet prachtig?

Textured Floral is the name of the set I used! Don't you love that gorgeous watercolour effect?

Deze techniek is bovendien superleuk voor mensen die nog niet zo veel stempelmaterialen hebben. Je hebt namelijk alleen maar wat basisitems nodig. Bovendien zijn het eenlaagskaarten, dus is weinig materiaal nodig, en zijn ze lekker licht om te versturen! Ideaal dus!

Ik ga je vertellen hoe het werkt!

This technique is also great for people that don't havethat many stampin'Materials yet. You only need some essentials. On top of that these are single layered cards, that use very little cardstock, and don't need a lot of postage to send!

I will explain the technique to you!

Als eerste sneed ik een strook Masking paper (Maskeer papier) van de gewenste breedte, en plakte dit op een basiskaart van Thick Very Vanilla Cardstock. Maskeerpapier is een gaaf Stampin'Up! product en koop je in een pakje. Het is zelfklevend, maar dan zonder het papier waarop je het plakt te beschadigen.

First step was cutting a strip of Masking Paper in the right size, and adhering that on a basecard made of Thick Very Vanilla Cardstock. Masking Paper is a great Stampin'Up! product that can be ordered in a pack. It is self adhesive but does not damage the surface you adhered it to.

Daarna stempelde ik met diverse stempels en diverse inkten de bloemen op, onder en boven de strook, net zolang tot ik tevreden was.

Next step was stamping several stamps in different colour on, above and under the strip, until I was happy with the result.

En toen was het tijd om de strook te verwijderen! Je houdt een onbestempelde strook over. Met een Stampin'Write Marker in een kleur die ik ook bij het stempelen had gebruikt, en een liniaal, trok ik mooie strakke lijnen langs de strook, zodat ie nog mooier uitkwam.

Now it was time to remove the strip. A clean strip became visible. I made the lines clean and crisp with a Stampin. Write Marker and a ruler, ofcourse in a colour that I used in the stamping too. These lines make the strip look clean and crisp!

En tenslotte stempelde ik de gekozen tekst in de gemaakte strook! En klaar is mijn "Bordered Sentiment"! Simpel he?

Last step was stamping the chosen text onto the strip! And now my Bordered Sentiment was finished! I told you it was simple!

Na deze eerste kaart wilde ik even wat varianten uitproberen!

After making this first card I wanted to try some variations to this technique!

Bijvoorbeeld door alle bloemen aan een zijkant te stempelen...

For example by placing all flowers on one side of the card....

Of door een verticale, en incomplete strip uit te proberen...

Or by experimenting with a vertical, incomplete strip....

Maar ook kun je met de techniek spelen en er een deel van de kaart mee afbakenen!

But you can also play a bit, and use the technique to border part of the card!

Dit waren mijn voorbeelden, maar natuurlijk kan er nog veel meer... Denk bijvoorbeeld ook eens aan diagonale stroken! Lekker experimenteren en uitproberen zou ik zeggen!

These are my examples, but ofcourse there is much more you can do. What would you think of adding vertical strips for example? Have fun playing, and trying!
