Deze maand gaan we droog embossen op Vellum!
This month we will do some dry embossing on Vellum!

Met droog embossen bedoelen we het embossen met een embossingfolder. Op Vellum geeft dit een extra bijzonder effect!
With dry Embossing we mean Embossing with an Embossingfolder. On Vellum dry embossing gives an extra special effect!

Doordat je met een embossingfolder het papier vervormt krijg je een fraai relief en op Vellum geeft het vervormen ook een mooi witachtig resultaat op de vervormde randjes. Bovendien geeft de licht transparante eigenschap van Vellum een fraai diepte effect op de opgebolde delen!
Since working with an embossingfolder "distorts" the Vellum you get not only some fun structure but on the places the Vellum is reshaped the most it turns white which looks very nice. On top of that the transparency of the Vellum gives a fun effect of depth on the raised parts.

Bij mijn project paste ik de techniek toe op de achtergrond, plus ik voegde er een leuke variatie aan toe.
On my project I used the technique on the background and I applied an extra variation to it.
De Embossingfolder die ik gebruikte is deze: de Countryside Blossoms Embossingfolder, die in het Nederlands Landelijk Bloempatroon genoemd wordt. en prachtig uitgewerkt motief die een beetje aan volkskunst doet denken en vol leuke details zit. Daardoor is het een ideale keus voor deze techniek!
The embossingfolder I used is this one: The Countryside Blossoms Embossingfolder. A lovely intricate design that reminds us of folkart and folklore, and has lots of little details. That makes it a perfect choise for this technique!

Deze achtergrond maakte ik als volgt: Eerst beinkte ik de binnenzijde van de embossingfolder met inkt, die ik deppend met het Berry Burst inktkussen op de platte (dus niet de gedetailleerde) zijde van de folder aanbracht. Daarna legde ik het vellum er tussen en haalde het door mijn Stampin'Cut & Emboss Machine. Ik haalde het vellum er vervolgens voorzichtig uit en legde het te drogen. De Embossingfolder maakte ik onder de kraan zo weer schoon. Omdat Vellum niet poreus is en daardoor langere tijd nodig heeft om te drogen heb ik het even verhit met de Heat Tool, zodat de inkt zich goed en snel aan het Vellum kon vastzetten.
This background was made in a few steps. First I inked the inside of the Embossingfolder with ink, simply by dabbing the flat side (not the detailed side) of the folder with the Berry Burst Ink Pad. I layed the Vellum in the folder, closed it and put it through my Stampin'Cut & Emboss Machine. Then I took out the Vellum and layed it to dry. Next I simply cleaned the folder under some running water. The ink washed of easily. Since Vellum is not porous it takes longer to dry, so I heatset the ink with my Heat Tool.
Ik bevestigde het Vellum met de beinkte kant naar beneden op lichtgekleurd Cardstock. Dit is de nieuwe kleur Bubble Bath. Door de onbeinkte delen van het Vellum zie je mooi deze zachtroze kleur schijnen waardoor de diepte, en de witte randjes, extra mooi uitkomen. Dat kon je op de closeup foto die ik hierboven al plaatste extra goed zien.
I adhered the Vellum with the inked side down to some soft coloured Cardstock. This is the new colour Bubble Bath. Through the ininked parts you see the love pink shining through while the white edges show extra nicely. The close up picture I showed earlier shows that rather well.

Nu was hettijd om de kaart verder aan te kleden!
Now it was time to build the card up some more!

De rozetinten inspireerden me de kaart te decoreren met lieflijke bloesems!
The pinks inspired me to decorate the card with some lovely blossoms!
De set die ik hiervoor gebruikte is Seasonal Branches. Met deze set kun je voor alle seizoenen prachtig opgebouwde takken maken. De bijpassende stansset is daarvoor natuurlijk een geweldige aanvulling, ook vanwege alle leuke extra onderdeeltjes!
The set I used to make them is Seasonal Branches. With this set you can make branches for all the seasons of the year. The matching dies are ofcourse a great addition, also because of all the extra elements!

Ik stempelde de takken en bloesems met Blackberry Bliss inkt, en kleurde de bloempjes in met Stampin'Blends in Berry Burst en Bubble Bath en liet daarbij vooral ook delen wit, omdat dat ze extra zacht laat ogen.
I stamped the branches and blossims in Blackberry Bliss Ink and coloured the flowers with Stampin'Blends in Berry Burst and Bubble Bath, making sure I kept the petals mostly white, to emphasize the delicacy of the blossoms.

Door de blaadjes van de bloemen wat te vormen en hier en daar Mini Dimensionals te gebruiken voegde ik diepte en structuur toe.
By shaping the petals a bit and using Mini Dimensionals on some, I added depth and structure.

Als laatste voegde ik wat Iredescent Rhinestones toe die zo de kleur van de omgeving aannemen en een prachtige schittering geven. De zachtroze strik, gemaakt met Sheer Ribbon maakt het helemaal af.
As a last step I embellished the card with some Iredescent Rhinestones which effordlessly take on the colour of their environment and give a beautiful sparkle. The soft pink bow, made with Sheer Ribbon is the perfect finishing touch.
