Deze keer gaan we aan de slag met een oude, maar nog steeds zo leuke techniek: Paper Piecing!
This time we are challenged to work with and old but still fun technique: Paper Piecing!
Paperpiecing is een soort inkleurtechniek, waarbij je kleine stukjes (=Pieces) papier (=Paper) gebruikt om afbeeldingen, of gedeeltes van afbeeldingen, in te kleuren en dat dus in plaats van Stampin'Blends, Watercolorpencils of andere kleurproducten! En dat heeft vaak een ontzettend leuk effect!
Paperpiecing is technique to add colour to an image. With this technique you use small pieces of paper to fill the image of part of the image, instead of Stampin'Blends, watercolor Pencils or other colouringproducts. And this can give great results!
Met Paper Piecing kun je bijvoorbeeld printjes aan een afbeelding toevoegen door Designpapier te gebruiken!
With Paper Piecing you can add nice prints and patterns to the image, when you use Designer Series Paper!
Deze keer wist ik al meteen welke set ik zou gaan gebruiken! Ik was al van plan snel aan de slag te gaan met deze onweerstaanbaar lieve set Wildly Adorable! Deze set staat in de nieuwe jaarcatalogus!
This time I immediately knew what set I would use! I was already thinking of soon working with this irresistibly cute stampset Wildly Adorable! This set is in our Annual Catalog!
Die zachte knuffelpakjes leken me ideaal om van een schattig printje te voorzien!
Those cute fluffy outfits seemed perfect for adding some structure to it!
Het lieve konijntje ziet er zo knuffelbaar uit, dat ik dat wilde versterken. Dit leuke zachte wollige printje uit het In Good Taste DSP was er helemaal perfect voor! Ik stempelde het konijntje op het DSP en knipte heel gedetailleerd alle stukjes van het pakje uit.
This cute little Rabbit is looking so hugable, that I wanted to emphasize that. This soft fluffy, wool-like print from the In Good Taste DSP seemed perfect for it! I stamped the rabbit on the DSP and cut very detailed all the pieces of the little suit.
Het grappige leeuwtje kreeg een lekker "Wild"printje uit het In the Wild DSP! Hiermee deed ik dus het zelfde. Dit was even priegelen ivm de oortjes en het randje om het gezichtje. Goed opletten dus dat je in dit stadium geen stukjes kwijt raakt!
The funny little Lion got a fun "WILD"pattern from the In The Wild DSP. Here I did the same as a did with the rabbit but in this case it was even more fiddly because of detailed elements like the ears abd the edge around the face. So be careful when you are doing this too, and make sure you don't loose any of the little pieces!
Het aandoenlijke beertje vond ik zo schattig, dat een stoer structuurtje zo'n tegenstelling was dat het daarvan nog schattiger zou worden. En dat lukte gelukkig! Dit papier komt ook uit het In Good Tast DSP! Een tip voor het knippen is: Knip niet LANGS het lijntje maar dwars DOOR het lijntje, want dat geeft het mooiste resultaat!
I loved this touchingly cute bear so much and I thought that a fun contrast, like a rough looking pattern would look extra cute on it. And I think it does! This rocuh looking texturepattern is from the In Good Taste DSP! One tip for the handcutting: Make sure you cut THROUGH the stamped lines, for the best result!
Vervolgens ging ik op een stukje Basic White alle babietjes stempelen en vervolgens kleurde ik alle delen die niet bedekt zouden gaan worden in met Stampin'Blends!
Next step was stamping the babies again on a piece of Basic White and then colouring all the parts that would not be covered!
Tip: De gebruikte pakken DSP zijn nog tot aanstaande maandag 2 augustus met 15 procent korting te bestellen!

Daarna was het tijd om alle PaperPieces op de juiste plekken in de afbeeldingen te plakken. Met Stampin'Blends kun je ook in dit stadium nog prima accentjes en schaduwen ed aanbrengen, ook op het DSP. Vervolgens knipte ik de afbeeldingen op de Fussy manier uit, met een randje er om heen dus!
Then it was time to adhere all the Paper Pieces on their right places of the images. With Stampin'Blends you can add some accents and shadows in this stage. Also on the DSP! When that was done I fussy cut the images.
Met de Scalloped Contours Dies stanste ik diverse rechthoekjes uit, die ik gedeeltelijk een kleurtje gaf met inkt en de Blending Brushes. Ik plakte er twee op elkaar en dit vormde zo een mooi "frame"om de lieve figuurtjes in te plaatsen.
With the Scalloped Contours Dies I stamped rectangles in two sizes. I partly coloured these with ink and blendingbrushed and mounted them. That way the formed lovely frames to place the little cuties in!
Op de basiskaart bacht ik subtiel wat kleur aan op de zelfde manier, en ook enkele strookjes van het gebruikte DSP! Zo leg je heel subtiel de nadruk op de leuke printjes!
On the Base card I added some colour in the same way, and also some strips of the DSP! That way you accent the lovely patterns that were used on the images.

Het was een heerlijk werkje! Als je een oude techniek zo in een nieuw jasje steekt is ie weer helemaal leuk! Ik heb er echt plezier mee gehad. Natuurlijk heeft het schattigheidsgehalte van die kleine "wildly adorable" figuurtjes daar absoluut aan bijgedragen!
This was really a fun little project to make! When you use an older technique with new stamps and papers it absolutely fun again! I really enjoyed making this. But ofcourse those little wildly adorable figures play a big role in that!
