Hay, it's your Birthday - Stamping with Friends Bloghop - Paper Strips

Welkom bij deze Stamping with Friends Bloghop! In deze bloghop krijg je wat verse stempelinspiratie van over de hele wereld! Uiteindelijk is dat een van de mooie kanten van deze fantastische hobby: De contacten en vriendschappen die je er door opdoet! afstanden en grenzen spelen hier geen rol!

Welcome to this Stamping with Friends Bloghop! In this hop we bring you some fresh stamping inspiration from all over the world! After all this is one of the big bonuses of this fantastic hobby: The contacts and friendships it brings! Distances and borders play no role here!

Vandaag gaan we aan de slag met Paperstrips, oftewel papierstroken! Daar is namelijk heel veel leuks mee te doen!

Today we will work with Paper Strips! There is so much fun stuff you can do with these!

Ik heb daarom mijn reststrookjes cardstock er weer eens bij gepakt. Heb ik namelijk stroken cardstock over van andere projecten, dan doe ik in een speciaal bakje dat ik daarvoor heb. En af en toe ga ik met die reststrookjes aan de slag. Ze zijn immers veel te leuk om weg te gooien!

That is why I grabbed my box with scraps, in this case Paper Strips and went to work! I happen to have a special box dedicated to leftover cardstock strips, and every now and then I take that box and use a handful of these leftover stripy bits. After all they are way  to much fun to throw them away!

Deze keer maakte ik er deze vrolijke borderrand mee!

This time I used them to make this fun border!

Op een strookje Basic White cardstock plake ik strak tegen elkaar strookjes van diverse breedtes in drie kleuren. Poppy Parade, Darling Duckling en Pool Party. Niet de meest voor de hand liggende combi, maar daarom juist een leuke uitdaging! Deze strook sneed ik vervolgens weer in strookjes van verschillende breedtes, en door die met een kleine tussenruimte op het achtergrondpaneel te plakken krijg je dit vrolijke geheel.

On a bigger strip of Basic White cardstock I adhered several strips tightly together, in different sizes and three colours: Poppy Parade, Darling Duckling and Pool Party. Not a combination I would pick naturally, but they work great together and it makes it a nice creative challenge! This big strip was cut into strops again, also in different sizes. By adhering some of these on the background panel, with a small gap between them, I got this result.

Een overgebleven strookje gebruikte ik om de binnenkant ook even gezellig aan te kleden.

A leftover strip was used to decorate the inside of the card.

Aangezien ik de borderrand feestelijk en vrolijk vond besloot ik er deze vrolijke set  bij te pakken: Tractor & Co! De vorige keer maakte ik er een kerstkaart mee, maar nu werd het een verjaardagskaart!

Since the result of the border looked so festive I decided to pick a happy stampset too! I chose this one: Tractor & Co. Last time I made a Christmas Card with it, now it became a Birthday Card!

Ik vulde het karretje met hooi, en plaatste er een grappige haan bovenop. Ook de tekst is natuurlijk heel toepasselijk ;o) Ik houd van woordspelingen! De wielen gaf ik een stoere look door van de stempel wat inkt weg te deppen. Achter de wagen kwam nog wat blauwe gloed met Blending Brushes en inkt, maar verder hield ik de kaart heel clean and simple. 

I filled the tractor with hay, and placed a funny chicken on top of it.  The wheels got a rustic look by dabbing away some ink from the stamp. The text is very fitting, and very funny. I love playing with words! Behind the tractor I added some subtle ink blending, but that was all. I wanted to keep it clean and simple. 

Door dimensionals onder sommige delen te gebruiken krijg je net een beetje diepte en detail bij deze verder simpele kaart.

Using dimensionals for some parts gives some extra depth and interest to this simple card!

Conclusie van deze blogpost: Nooit meer je restjes cardstock weggooien, maar speel er mee! 😉

Conclusion of today is: Never throw any leftover Paper Strips in the bin, but have a play with them!😉

Met deze kaart doe ik aan twee challenges mee. De kleureninspiratie haalde ik uit deze challenge #GDP509 van Global Design Project. Ik vond deze combi echt bij deze stripjestechniek passen! De indeling haalde ik uit deze schets van CAS Colours & Sketches. Door de tractor slechts gedeeltelijk op het paneel te plaatsen kon ik mooi deze schets volgen.

With this card I take part in two Challenges. The inspiration for the colours come from this challenge #GDP509 van Global Design project. I thought this combination would be fitting for this paper strips technique. The layout comes from this sketch of CAS Colours & Sketches. By only using a small part of the tractor I was able to follow this sketch! And I love the effect!
