You've got this - Totally Techniques Bloghop - Emboss Resist

Deze maand gaan we aan de slag met de Emboss Resist techniek!

This month we work with the Emboss Resist Technique!

Bij deze techniek maken we gebruik van het feit dat onze Classic Inkten niet goed hechten op gladde oppervlakken, in dit geval geemboste oppervlakken.

For this technique we use the fact that our Classic Inks do not stick to very smooth, glossy surfaces, in this case embossed parts!

Op mijn kaart van vandaag paste ik de techniek toe op de achtergrond!

On my card I used the technique on the background!

Met deze techniek kun je allerlei leuke effecten krijgen, en ze geven altijd een bijzonder resultaat. En moeilijk is het absoluut niet!

With this technique you can get all kind of nice effects, and they all give a fun result! And it is not difficult at all!

Voor mijn kaart gebruikte ik een splinternieuwe set uit de aankomende Mini Catalogus die vanaf 5 januari geldig is! En die set is ZO leuk!

For my card I used a brand new set from the coming new Mini Catalog that will be available from the 5th of january!

De naam van de set is Petal Park, en de bijpassende pons is de Petal Park Builder pons! Samen zijn ze straks ook als voordeelpakket te bestellen!

The name of the set is Petal Park and the matching punch is called the Petal Park Builder punch! Together they will soon be orderable and as a bundle too!

De Emboss Resist techniek kun je op verschillende manieren doen, en hier deed ik dat over een gestempelde afbeelding. In deze blogpost zal ik stap voor stap laten zien hoe ik de kaart heb opgebouwd.

The Emboss Resist technique can be done in several ways, and in this case I did it over a stamped image. In this blogpost I will tell you how I did this, step by step.

Voor mijn kaart maakte ik een grote achtergrond, maar voor deze tutorial heb ik even een kleine variant gemaakt waarop ik de zelfde stappen heb gevolgd.

Ik begon met het stempelen van de grote blaadjes stempel met Shaded Spruce Inkt op Basic White Cardstock. Vervolgens veegde ik er met de Embossing Buddy overheen (deze is onderdeel van de Embossing Additions Tool kit) en daarna nam ik de "dichte"stempel die bij de open blaadjes stempel past. Ik stempelde deze met Versamark inkt precies over de groene blaadjes heen. Over het papier strooide ik vervolgens Clear Embossingpoeder. Dit verhitte ik tot het poeder een glanzend laagje vormde.

On my card I made a big background, but for this tutorial I made a smaller version in which I followed the same steps.

I started with stamping the big leave stamp with Shaded Spruce Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Next I whiped it with the Embossing Buddy which is part of the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. After that I took the more bold stamp that matches the stamp I stamped in green. This time I stamped with versamark ink, right on top of the green leave image. On the paper I added Clear Embossingpowder, that was heated with the Heattool until the powder looked shiny.

Met Shaded Spruce inkt en een Blending Brush veegde ik zachtjes over de blaadjes heen. De omgeving van de blaadjes neemt nu de inkt op, maar de geemboste laag stoot deze af. Dit is het Emboss Resist effect. De blaadjes poppen zo echt op uit de achtergrond.

Met Balmy Blue inkt bracht ik hier en daar wat extra accenten aan.

With Shaded Spruce Ink and a Blending Brush I started adding ink on the leafs. The surrounding parts easily accept the ink and are coloured, but the embossed part resist the ink and stay transparant and without colour. This is the Emboss Resist effect. It makes the leafs pop from the background.

I added some accents the same way with Balmy Blue ink.

Op precies dezelfde manier maakte ik een rij losse blaadjes die ik vervolgens uitponste met de Petal Park Builder pons.

In exactly the same way I made a row of separate leafs that I punched out with the Petal Park Builder Punch

De bloemetjes stempelde ik in Starry Sky, en de binnenkant stempelde ik met Balmy Blue inkt. Doordat de bloemenstempel drie bloemetjes bevat en deze precies past in de pons heb je in no time een stapel prachtige bloemetjes.

The flowers were stamped in Starry Sky Ink, and I filled them with the matching stamp in Balmy Blue. Since the flowerstamp has three flowers that fit perfectly in the punch it takes only minutes to get a stack of those lovely little flowers!

Ik stempelde en knipte nog wat van de mini bloemetjes uit, en toen had ik deze onderdelen!

I stamped and fussycut a few of the tiniest Mini flowers too, and ended up with all these elements!

De blaadjesstempels en de bloemetjes zijn speciaal ontworpen om samen te werken, dus het is helemaal niet moeilijk om een leuke compositie te maken!

The leaf stamp and the flowers are perfectly designed to work together, so making a nice composition is very easy!

Door de bloemblaadjes iets op te krullen en de bloemetjes met dimensionals op te plakken krijg je een superleuk, speels en levendig effect met lekker veel diepte er in.

By slighly curling the petals and adhering the flowers with dimensionals you get a superful, playful and vivid effect, with lots of depth.

Petal Park is een set met alleen afbeeldingen, dus je kunt elke tekst uit elke set er mee combineren!

Petal Park is an image only set, so you can use any text, from any set, for any occasion!

Deze keer koos ik voor een bemoedigende tekst uit de set Sending Support! Van zulke teksten kun je nooit genoeg hebben! Deze set is vanaf 5 januari gratis uit te kiezen als Sale-A-Brationkado bij een bestelling vanaf 60 euro!

This time I chose for this supporting text from the set Sending Support! You can never have too many of texts like these! The Sending Supportset is a SAB set that can be chosing for free with a 60 euro's order during Sale-A-Bration, that starts in januari 5th!

Deze keer gebruikte ik twee van de tekstjes bij elkaar. Ik verwerkte ze op twee strookjes van het nieuwe Textured Shimmer Paper, dat ook in de nieuwe Mini Catalogus staat!

This time I used two of the texts together. I adhered them onto two stript of the new Textured Shimmer Paper, that will also be in our new Mini Catalog!

Ik versierde de kaart tenslotte met wat lint en dotjes in de kleur Starry Sky

At last I embellished the card with some ribbon and dots in the colour Starry Sky.
