Je bent nu in Nederland aangekomen, Mijn naam is Annette Elias, van de Kijkkast!
Why would we only make Christmascards when it comes close to Christmasday.... When we can also spread the fun over the whole year. That is why I love participating in this Hop. There are enough products available right now to start making cards rightaway. I think it is a nice challenge!
Met het sombere weer dat we hier in Nederland nu hebben lijkt de periode van kerst niet zo ver weg als dat het gewoonlijk lijkt in deze tijd van het jaar! Ik vond het dan ook helemaal niet erg om met kerstkaarten bezig te zijn!
Now that the weather is so gray and wet here in the Netherlands the time of Christmas doesn't seem as far away as it usually does at this time of the year! So I did not mind making Christmascards at all!
Dat kwam ook doordat ik met een prachtige nieuwe kerst stempelset kon werken natuurlijk!
But ofcourse that was also because I was able to work with a gorgeous new Christmas Stampset!
De set heet So Very Merry en deze valt meteen op door de bijzondere vormgeving van de afbeeldingen! Het is een Online Only set dus deze staat niet in een van de catalogus maar is alleen in de webwinkel te vinden!
The set is called So Very Merry and it immediately catches the eye ecause of the special design of the images. It is an Online Exclusive set so you will not find this set in any catalog, only ONLINE!
De set is geinspireerd op glas in lood ramen, maar dan in een wat modernere stijl. Superleuk dus om in te kleuren, en ook supergeschikt om de lijntjes te Heat Embossen, zoals ik hier deed in het zilver! Ook op de achtergrond!
The set is inspired by Stained Glass Windows, but in a more modern style than the classic ones. So the images are lovely to colour in and this set is perfect to use with Heat Embossing like I did here in Sive, also on the background!
De blikvanger van de kaart kleurde ik in met diverse blauw-paars tinten. Zo past het mooi bij de achtergrond. Het is leuk om de vlakjes net even andere tinten te geven die dicht bij elkaar liggen.
The focal point of the card was coloured in several blue/purples. That way everything matches, also with the background. It is nice to colour every part of the images in a slightly different colour, to emphasixe the handmade Stained Glass look.
Als je eens extra goed naar glas in loodramen kijkt, zie je dat het glas handgemaakt is, en nooit helemaal glad. Dat zorgt mede voor de prachtige lichteffecten die het geeft. Ik heb dit effect geprobeerd na te bootsen met mijn Stampin'Blends!
When you pay close attention to the look of Stained Glass you will notice that the glass pieces that are used are never completely flat and even. This gives the glass its lovely light breaking properties. I tried to mimic this look with my Stampin'Blends!
De afbeeldingen van de So Very Merry kun je heel makkelijk uitponsen met de 2 3/8 inch Circle pons! Superhandig! Deze is te vinden in de jaarcatalogus!
The images of the set So Very Merry can easily be punched out with our 2 3/8 inch Circle punch! So easy! This punch can be found in our Annual Catalog!
Om het glas in lood raampje mooi te omlijsten stanste ik een vierkant uit de achtergrond met de Stylish Shapes Dies. Ik verlaagde dit vierkant en plakte daar de cirkel dan weer verhoogd in. Dit geeft een subtiele maar mooie diepte aan de kaart!
To frame the Stained Glass Circle a bit more I diecut the square with the Stylish Shapes Dies. I lowered this part and then raised the circle with Dimensionals. It gives a subtle but lovely depth to the card.
De tekst komt ook uit de set, en hier gebruikte ik ook weer de Stylish Shapes Dies om er een banner van te maken.

Ik kon het niet weerstaan om de engel en vleugels een beetje te decoreren met een glimmerlaagje, dus de Wink of Stella Glitterbrush deed hier weer goed zijn werk!
I just could not resist decorating the angel and the wings a bit with a glittery layer, so the Wink of Stella Glitterbrush did a nice job here!
