Snowman with love -Totally Techniques Bloghop - Watercolor Pencils

Deze maand gaan we de mogelijkheden van de Watercolour Pencils verkennen!

This month we will look at the possibilities of our Watercolor Pencils!

We hebben twee assortisets, waarin elk een reeks van de Stampin'Up Kleuren zit. Daardoor werken ze perfect samen met onze inkten, cardstocks, designpapiertjes en embellishments! Voor mijn project van vandaag gebruikte ik alleen dit basisassortiment.

We have two Assortments of the Watercolor Pencils, both filled with a collection of Stampin'Up!colours! That provides easy combinationpossibilies with our inks, cardstocks, Designer Series Papers and embellishments! For my project of today I only used this basic Assortment 1.

Watercolour Pencils, je kunt er uiteraard mee kleuren, gewoon zo in hun normale staat, maar je kunt er ook allerlei leuke technieken mee uitvoeren!

Watercolor Pencils, ofcourse you can color with them, just simply the way as they are, but you can also perform lots of techniques with them!

Met dit project laat ik je twee van die toepassingen zien!

With this project I can show you two of those ways!

Laten we beginnen met deze winterse, kleurrijke achtergrond!

Let's start with this wintery, colourful background!

Hiervoor startte ik met een stukje Shimmery White Cardstock. Hierop begon ik met het kleuren in banen. De keuze van de kleuren is geinspireerd door de luchten die je momenteel veel ziet. Met koele kleuren maar ook met roze en oranje lagen er in. Op de tweede en derde foto heb ik aangegeven hoe ik de kleuren zo ongeveer heb aangebracht.

I started with a piece of Shimmery White cardstock, and started colouring with the colours in strokes. The colours were chosen to match with the wintery skies we see very often lately. With cool colours, but also some pink and orange. On the second and third photo I showed what colours I chose and where I added them.

Daarna nam ik de fijnste penseel uit mijn set Water Painters en "waste" de potloodkleuren zo in lange halen uit. Door steeds van links naar rechts te strijken krijg je dat typische effect dat zo'n winterse avondlucht kenmerkt. De kleuren worden intenser en vloeien mooi in elkaar over.

Dit kan nu drogen, maar dit gaat best snel, want we hebben niet veel water gebruikt!

Then I took the finest of the three Water Painters and "washed"the pencilled colours in long strokes. By going from left to right and back, you get that typical effect that is so well visible in wintery evening skies! The colours are more intense, and they blend together.

Now we can lay this aside to dry, which will not take very long since we did not use a lot of water.

Zo simpel, en zo doeltreffend ;o)

So simple, but also so effective!

Tijd om te werken aan de blikvanger!

Time to work on the focal point of the card!

Hiervoor gebruikte ik de superschattige set Snowman Magic met de bijpassende Snowman Dies. Wat een superleuke set, met zoooo ontzetted veel details en extra's! Zoveel onderdelen om mee te spelen en varieren!

For this I used this supercute set Snowman Magic, with the matching Snowman Dies. Oh my, this is such a sweet set, and it has so many details en extra bits and bobs! There is so much to play with!

Een sneeuwpop is wit, en daar valt weinig aan in te kleuren zou je denken! Maar toch voegt dat beetje kleur veel toe! Zoals hier de illusie van de ronde vormen! Ik stempelde de pop en het gezichtje met Stazon inkt, kleurde heel subtiel wat schaduwen met het Bermuda Bay potlood, en liet deze heel subtiel uitvloeien met een Blender Pen! Ik werkte snel, en in cirkelvormige bewegingen. Blender Pens zijn ideaal voor subtiel kleurwerk in combinatie met de Watercolor Pencils!

A sanowman is white, so you would think they need no colouring, but still some colour adds a lot to the image. Like I did here by getting the illusion of round shapes! I stamped the Snowman and face in Stazon ink, and coloured very subtle with the Bermuda Bay Pencil and then carefully blended the colour with a Blender Pen. I worked fast and in a circular motion. Blender Pens are great for subtle colouring in combination with Watercolor Pencils!

Ik stempelde ook een muts en sjaal en vogeltje, en stanste alles uit. Ook stanste ik twee armpjes en een aantal boompjes uit Basic Black cardstock.

I also stamped the scarf and hat and the little bird and diecut all the elements. I also diecut two arms and a number of trees from Basic Black Cardstock.

En uiteindelijk komt alles samen op mijn kaart! De sneeuwpop kreeg nog een lief hartje om vast te houden. Voor wat sparkle voegde ik wat Sequins toe in de bomen. De "heuvel" stanste ik trouwens met de Basic Borders Dies. Ik liet bewust een groot deel van de kaart vrij om de lucht mooi uit te laten komen. En dit waren dan nog maar twee mogelijkheden met de Watercolor Pencils! Er kan nog zo veel meer! Klik HIER als je meer voorbeelden, ideeen en ook een video met de Watercolor Pencils wilt zien!

And in the end it all comes together on this card. The snowman got a little sweet heart to hold. For some sparkle I added some sequins. The hill was diecut with the Basic Borders Dies. I kept a big part of the panel emplty to let the background stand out. And these were only two of the many ways you can use the Watercolor Pencils! So much more is possible!
