Vandaag een "gouw ouwe" techniek, maar wel eentje die echt leuk blijft! De Stamp Kissing Technique. Oftewel het stempelkusje! Tenslotte kun je zo'n techniek elke keer in een nieuw jasje steken!
Today a "golden oldie", but still a technique which is always fun to do: The Stamp Kissing Technique! After all you can do something new with a technique, or with new stamps!
De basis van de techniek is het beinkten van een stempel, en daar dan met een schone stempel een deel van de inkt weghalen, door hem er tegen aan te drukken. Dat is het "kussen"! Je krijgt dan een structuurtje in je stempelafdruk. Het is begrijpelijk dat je dit effect het beste ziet op een dichte "bold"stempel!
Base of the technique is the inking of a stamp and then removing part of the ink by pushing a clean stamp on the inked stamp, AKA the Kissing! This gives some structure in the stamp. It is understandable that the effect can be seen best with a bold stamp!
Dus ja, deze Leaf Collection stempelset is er natuurlijk perfect voor! Een prachtige grote achtergrondstempel uit onze jaarcatalogus.
So yes, this Leaf Collection stampset is perfect for this technique! It is a beautiful big backgroudstamp from our Annual Catalog!
Maar zoals je inmiddels wellicht weet ben ik altijd op zoek naar nieuwe mogelijkheden en variaties!
But as you may know by now, I always love looking for new possibilities and more variation!
Dus ik ging kijken of ik ook op een andere manier deze techniek kon doen. Namelijk, niet met een stempel maar..... met een embossingfolder!
So I went experimenting to find out whether I could do this technique in another way... Not with a stamp..... but with an embossingfolder!
En het werkte, dus ik maakte er een stap voor stap beschrijving van! De Embossingfolder die ik gebruikte is deze, de Soft Waves 3d Embossingfolder. Een nieuwe aanwinst die te vinden is in de Mini Catalogus!
And it worked, so I made a step by step tutorial! The embossingfolder I used is a new one, the Soft Waves 3d Embossingfolder, from the newest Mini Catalog.
Eerst beinkte in gewoon de stempel met Berry Burst Inkt. Vervolgens legde ik daar de geopende embossingfolder overheen. Met de Stampin'Roller drukte ik de embossingfolder overal goed aan.
First I inkt the stamp in the normal way with Berry Burst Ink. Next a added the opened embossinfolder on top of the inked stamp. I used the Stampin'Brayer to make sure all parts were in good contact with the stamp.
Daarna verwijderde ik de embossingfolder. Deze kun je gewoon even afspoelen en droogdeppen, dan is ie weer helemaal schoon. Je kunt nu goed zien dat een deel van de inkt door de embossingfolder is meegenomen.
Now I removed the embossingfolder. You can clean it with running water and dry with a tissue, to clean it. When you look closely you can see part of the ink is taken away with the embossinfolder.
Nu legde ik een stukje Bubble Bath cardstock op de beinkte stempel. Met de Stampin'Roller drukte ik het weer grondig aan. Om te voorkomen dat er inkt op de roller komt leg ik graag eerst een kladpapiertje over de stempel met het cardstock en rol daarna over dit alles heen.
Now I added a piece of Bubble Bath cardstock on the inked stamp! With the Stampin'Roller I rolled over it. To prevent getting ink on the roller in this step I like putting a piece of scrap paper on top of the cardstock and stamp before the rolling.
Als je dan het cardstock optilt is dit het resultaat! Een prachtig bladmotief met een stoere structuur er in!
When you lift up the cardstock this is the result! A lovely leaf pattern with some cool structure in it!
Dit herhaalde iknog eens, maar nu op Basic White Cardstock. Dit gebruikte ik om een aantal bladeren uit te kunnen knippen, om mijn kaart mee te versieren. Doordat de ondergrond nu wit is komt de structuur er iets duidelijker uit dan bij de achtergrond. Dat was nu net de bedoeling!
I repeated all the steps, but now with some Basic White cardstock. I used this to fussy cut some of the leaves, so I had something to decorate my card. Because now the background was white, you can see the structure more clear than at the background. That was exactly what I wanted!
Zo steken ze net iets meer af!
This way you get a bit more contrast!
Tijd om alle onderdelen samen te gaan voegen tot een kaart!
Now it is time to assemble all the bits and elements to make the card!
De blaadjes kwamen op een witte hotseknots circel die ik stanste met de Around it All stansen. Ik vind deze stansen helemaal te gek! Ze staan in de Mini Catalogus!
The leaves were added to a white wonky circle that was diecut with the Around it All dies. I just love these funny shapes! You can find the dies in the Mini Catalog!
Met de Nederlandstalige set Gemengde Etiketten maakte ik het leuke tekstlabel!
With the in Dutch translated set Gemenge Etiketten I made the fun textlabel!
Met het lint en draad maakte ik een lekker rommelige toef onderaan de takjes. Het lint splitste ik en rafelde ik flink uit.
With the ribbon and the gold thread I added a messy "kind of"bow at the bottom of the leaves. I split and messed up the ribbon to get a shabby result.
De embossingfolder komt in het tussenlaagje heel subtiel terug. Hier en daar zie je er stukjes van.
The embossingfolder was also used for the matting layer, but in a very subtle way. You can just see some little bits of it at some places.
