Winternacht in Watercolour - New At Su Bloghop - Sketch Challenge

Deze keer maakten we allemaal een project aan de hand van een schets en producten uit de Mini Catalogus

This time we all made a project following a sketch and products from the Mini Catalog.

De kenmerken: Een staande kaart, met onderaan een strook waar elementen onder en boven uitsteken!

Features of this sketch: A vertical card, with a strip in the lower half, where elements come peeking out.

Omdat ik met deze prachtige sneeuwuil ging werken werd ik op het idee gebracht er nu eens een kaart van te maken, met de sfeer van een gure, magische, winterse nacht.

Since I had chosen to work with this gorgeous snow owl, I got the idea to make a card with the athmosphere of a chilly, magical, wintery night!

Deze set, Snow Owls, is werkelijk een droom om mee te werken! Kijk ook eens naar die prachtige bijpassende stansen!

Deze prachtige majestueuze uil stempelde ik in Pebbled Path en kleurde ik heel subtiel in met inkten in combinatie met Blender Pen. Zo lukte het heel subtiele schakeringen aan te brengen die lijken op watercolour.

This beautiful Majestic owl was stamped with Pebbled Path ink and then coloured in a very subtle way with inks and Blender Pen. By doing it this way I got to make very subtle shades and depths, that resemble water colour!

Om de gewenste sfeer te bereiken wilde ik ook de omgeving passend opbouwen.

To get the athmosphere I wanted I had to build up a matching environment!

Achter de uil kwam de boom uit de set die ik in meerdere blauwtinten afdrukte. maar ook een aantal keren in zilver emboste. Het zilver past natuurlijk helemaal in het gebruikte kleurenschema!

Behind the owl I added the tree image that I stamped in several blues, but also embossed in silver several times. The silver is a perfect match with the used colourscheme!

Daarop kwam de strook met tekst zoals in de schets is aangegeven!

On top of that the strip with sentiment was added, according to the sketch!

Met de takkenstansen uit de set kleedde ik de strook wat aan! Zo'n detail kan veel verschil maken!

With the Branches dies from the set the strip was decorated a bit.Details like this can make a big difference!

Door de ruige, veelkleurige achtergrond wordt de hele magische sfeer nog eens versterkt!

The rustic, multicoloured background adds up to the magic athmosphere of the card!

Deze maakte ik met de Faux Chalkstone techniek, een door mij ontwikkelde watercolourtechniek waarmee je prachtige effecten kunt maken. Technieken als deze verwerk ik graag in mijn Kijkkast Masterclasses! Boek dus zeker eens een Masterclass workshop als je dit soort nieuwe en unieke technieken graag wilt leren!

This background was made with the Faux Chalkstone technique, a specific watercolourtechnique I developed and with which you can make gorgeous effects! Eigenlijk was ik best wel tevreden met hoe het idee in mijn hoofd uiteindelijk is gelukt. De schitterende uil, de achtergrond, de takken en bomen, kleuren, en het zilver embossing "voegt" allemaal prima samen! en het heeft echt die knusse, ijzige winternacht "vibes" gekregen. Wat ben ik toch dol op deze uilen!

I am rather satisfied with how the idea in my head turned out. The gorgeous owl, the background, the branches, trees, colours, and the silver embossing go well together! And it all got that cozy, chilly wintervibe I was going for! I love these owls!!
