Vandaag werken we met een kleuren challenge! De opdracht is om de vijf bovenstaande kleuren in en op je kaart te verwerken!
For todays hop we have been working with a Color Challenge. We were asked to use these five colours in and on our card!
Ik vond het een lieve, zachte en natuurlijke kleurcombinatie!
I thought it was a sweet, soft and natural color combination!
En aangezien ik helemaal into het kerstkaarten maken ben momenteel, voegde ik er een beetje goud aan toe voor een feestelijke touch!
And since I am all into making Christmas cards at the moment, I added a bit of gold to give it a festive touch!
Ik nam de set Artful Amaryllis er bij. Dit is een lieve, romantische set vind ik, die mij echt aan kerst doet denken. Niet omdat de Amaryllis perse een kerstbloem is, maar omdat mijn lieve mams, die dit jaar is overleden, er zo dol op was en er elk jaar met kerst steevast (minstens) eentje in huis had.
I took the set Artful Amaryllis for my card. It is such a sweet romantic set I think, and it reminds me of Christmas. Not because the Amaryllis is specifically a Christmasflower, but because my dear mum, who passed away this year, loved them so much and always had (at least) one at Christmas.
Liefst dan natuurlijk zo'n grote bloembol, zodat je de bloem kon zien opkomen en uitvouwen. Best spectaculair! Dat het dus voor mij vooral een kerstset is komt dus vooral door mijn herinneringenm dat zul je vast begrijpen. Een stukje nostalgie.
She especially loved the bulbs, so that you could see the flower coming up and unfolding. Just spectacular to watch! So I suppose you will understand that the fact that for me this is a set that reminds me of Christmas, is because of all these memories.
Ik begon met een vierkant stuk van dit prachtige Season of Elegance DSP, in Basic Beige met gouden accenten. Ik scheurde twee tegenover elkaar liggende hoeken schuin af. Met inkt en een Blending Brush bracht ik hier en daar een vleugje roze ( Bubble Bath) aan.
I started with a square piece of this gorgeous Season of Elegance DSP, in Basic Beige with gold accents. I tore of the two opposite corners. With ink and a Blending Brush I added a hint of pink (Bubble Bath) on some spots.
Dit vierkant plakte ik vervolgens op een vierkant van dezelfde maat in de kleur Moody Mauve, waar ik op de hoeken relief had aangebracht met de stans uit de set. Vervolgens gebruikte ik de afgescheurde hoeken om de uitgestanste Amaryllisbloemen onder te stoppen, zodat ze er onderuit lijken te puilen.
This DSP square was adhered to a sqare of the same size, of Moody Mauve Cardstock in which I had made a fun dotty pattern with one of the dies in the Amaryllis set. Now I used the torn corners to tuck the diecut Amaryllises under it, to make it look as if the flowers came bursting out.
Met Stampin'Blends bracht ik wat kleuraccenten aan, en ik gebruikte het getextureerde Metallic cardstock om de gouden meeldraadjes toe te maken.
With Stampin'Blends I added some colour accents to the flowers, and I used the Textured Metallic paper to add the gold details to the flowers.
Het geeft de kaart meteen een weelderig luxe en feestelijk gevoel!
It instantly gives the card this abundant, festive and luxurious look!
De gestempelde bloem werd ook goud, door deze te embossen en met de prachtige invulstempels uit de set bracht ik de kleur aan. Het detail en de schaduwing van deze stempels is geweldig mooi!
The stamped flower is also in gold, because I heat embossed it, and with the lovely fillerstamps I added the colour. The detail and shading of these stamps is gorgeous!
Ik vind het altijd heerlijk als je zoveel kunt met een set!
I love it when a set is so versatile!
De tekst komt ook uit de Artful Amaryllisset, en deze verwerkte ik op een dubbel label uit de Greetings of the Season Dies. Met wat Gold Trim werkte ik het af.
The text is also from the Artful Amaryllisset, and I stamped this on a double label from the Greetings of the Season Dies. Some Gold Trim finished it off.
Ik zei toch dat het een lekker overvloedig luxe kaartje zou worden?
Didn't I tell you it would be a luxurious card?
En zoals ik bijna altijd doe, deed ik nu ook. Ik voegde wat prachtige dots toe, deze keer met gouden vlokjes er in. Het brengt een kaart altijd tot leven, zo'n bijpassende versiering!
And as I do almost on every card: I added some lovely matching dots, this time with small gold flakes in them! a matching decoration always brings life to a card!
Veel details en laagjes dus, maar toch een geheel! Ik vond het heerlijk weer met deze set te werken!

Vandaag willen we aan de slag gaan met Sketches, oftewel kaartindelingen, want die zijn een supersimpel, maar ook supereffectief stuk gereedschap voor ons, kaartenmakers!
Op bladzijde 16 van de Mini Catalogus staan er bijvoorbeeld een aantal, en deze keer heb ik de schets rechtsonderin uitgekozen om mee aan de slag te gaan!
Today we will work with sketches, or cardlayouts, since these are a very simple, but supereffective tool for us, cardmakers!
On age 16 of the Mini Catalog you can find a whole lot of them for example. This time I have chosen the sketch on the bottom right to use for today's hop!
Het leuke is dat een schets je een handvat, en houvast geeft, maar dat je tegelijkertijd volop vrijheid hebt in de invulling van de gekozen schets!
The fun thing is that a sketch provides a direction but still offers lots of freedom in how you fill in the sketch.
Ik koos de set Peaceful Evergreens om mijn voorbeelden te maken!
I took the set Peaceful Evergreens to make my projects!
Hier ligt de cirkel verhoogd op het vierkant, en de bomen laat ik gewoon een beetje buiten de cirkel vallen. Uiteindelijk is de sketch een houvast, een basis, en geen ijzeren, strakke regel.
On this card the circle is raised from the square and the trees are overlapping the edges a bit. After all the sketch is a direction and a tool, and no strict rule.
De cirkel maakte ik met de Spotlight on Nature Dies.
The circle was made with the Spotlight on Nature Dies.
Zo laat ik ook wat kleine boompjes achter de cirkel vandaan komen.
With that same idea I also made some small trees come from behind the circle.
Ik hield het simpel bij deze kaart, met wat "vrije" toevoegingen, maar de sketch is nog steeds duidelijk te herkennen!
I kept it simple with this card, with some "free" additions, but the sketch is still very well recognizable.
Om te laten zien dat je met zo'n schets vele kanten op kunt, gebruikte ik de zelfde producten en kleuren nog een keer!
To show you that a sketch can be used in several ways, I used the same products and colors once more!
Dit werd een wat luxere, uitgebreidere variant!
This became a more luxurious and more detailed version!
Opnieuw gebruikte ik voor de grote banner op de achtergrond het Season Of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper
Again I used the Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper for the big banner on the background!
Ik rekte de kaart een beetje uit tot een Slimline formaat.
I stretched the card a bit to a Slimline Size.
Deze keer werd de cirkel juist een opening in het vierkant waar uit de bomen komen. Het diepte effect hiervan is erg leuk!
This time the circle became an opening in the square where the trees are coming out. The depth effect this brings is fun!
Ik voegde wat extra laagjes toe onder het vierkant.
I added some extra layers to the square.
En ook voegdewat extra gouden details toe, en een extra luxe tekst, die ik ook nog in goud emboste.
I added some more gold decorations and a more luxutious text that was gold embossed.
De set Christmas Labels is hier prachtig voor. Mooie klassieke kerstteksten, in mooie lettertypes, en prachtige gedetailleerde bijpassende labels. Supermooi! Een sierraad op je kaart!
The set Christmas Labels is a perfect choice for this. Lovely classic Christmastexts, in beautiful fonts and with gorgeously detailed matching labels. A lovely embellishment on your cards!
In de achtergrond gebruikte ik bovendien de Painted Trees 3 D Embossingfolder die prachtig bij de stempelset past! Je ziet er maar kleine stukjes van, maar het voegt toch veel toe aan de kaart!
In the background I used the Painted Trees 3 D Embossingfolder that matches very well with the stampset. You can see only small parts of it here, but it still adds a lot to this card!
Op beide kaarten voegde ik wat gouden sterretjes toe die ik stanste uit Brushed Metallic Cardstock. Dat past zo mooi bij het goud in het designpapier!
On both cards I added some gold stars that were diecut from Brushed Metallic Cardstock. This looks so nice with the gold in the design paper!
Je ziet overeenkomsten maar ook verschillen! En er kan nog zo veel meer!
You can see similarities but also differences! And so much more can be done with a sketch like this one!
Dat is het leuke van Sketches gebruiken. De mogelijkheden zijn eindeloos, maar toch geeft het je houvast om je kaart mee op te bouwen.
That is the fun of using sketches. The possibilities are endless but a sketch can give you a clear plan to work with.
